No Better Way To Start a New Year

Just as Christmas has fallen on a Sunday five times since the 80s so has New Years Day, and there was no better way to start the 2012 than in Christ-centered worship with a faith family. In planning the first service of the year we took into consideration the following:

  • use familiar songs that everyone would know so that there could be early participation
  • don't neglect our worship core values including the importance of re-telling the story of God (an intentional picture of who God is, His gift of grace through His Son and our opportunity to respond to the story), through scriptures, songs and prayer

Here is the set-list we decided on:

Songs, Scripture and Prayer Open the Eyes of My Heart by Paul Baloche Psalm 19:1 Shout to the Lord by Darlene Zschech Prayer of Confession Revelation 5:8-9 Revelation Song by Jennie Lee Riddle
