In the last two days I have been able to finally finish two books that had been on my 'currently reading list': The Management Methods of Jesus: Ancient Wisdom for Modern Business and The Root of the Righteous.
Just recently I was having lunch with a friend and former executive pastor of a local church and who has just accepted a position with Compassion International. During this conversation we begin to discuss leadership methods and I asked what had influenced his leadership style, without hesitating he recommended the book The Management Methods of Jesus. The writer takes a look at the life of Jesus and uses examples of how Christ lived and lead people as examples for business leaders to lead companies and their employees. It is a very easy read and I would recommend this book.
The second book The Root of the Righteous is another in my journey reading some of the writings of A.W. Tozer. I am still amazed at the insight this author can bring to the year 2008 when the words first hit the page in the 1940s and 1950s.
