Over the weekend I finished one of the books, Leading Talents, Leading Teams: Aligning People, Passions and Positions for maximum Performance, that had been on my currently reading list for a long time. The first part of the book took me a long time to read as it went into detail about personality types and how those types influence and direct how a person reacts in a job situation. Over the last years I have been exposed to the details of the both the DISC and Myers-Briggs instruments and how those defined personality types interact with others. To me the first portion of this book was another way to voice those ideas. I do recognize that specific research went into Leading Talents, Leading Teams it just communicated in a different way the same stuff.
The second part of the book was much more interesting to me. In this section the author defined leadership qualities and attributes and how a leader can capitalize on the differences in a team to build a highly effective unit. I will be taking the time to type out some notes from these last chapters so that I can refer to them often.
